WOODEN VINYL SLIP
Designing this case was a fun challenge because I wanted it to feel completely different from the typical vinyl slip. From the start, I was intentional about the materials; wood, acrylic, and magnets, not just for function, but to create something that feels elevated, tactile, and well-crafted.
Making it was a huge part of the project. I combined traditional woodworking with modern tools like a router and laser cutter to shape each piece with precision. That mix of methods helped me achieve clean lines and a refined finish, while keeping the design versatile: it can be used as a display piece for a favorite album or as a protective case meant to last.
The process was very hands-on from beginning to end, selecting materials, cutting and prepping each part, and assembling everything carefully so it felt solid and seamless. The final design balances creativity and practicality, and it reflects my goal of preserving music in a way that feels thoughtful, functional, and beautiful.
