Editorial Design / Layout
Ideas: The Magazine of the Aspen Institute
IDEAS: The Magazine of the Aspen Institute is a publication that shares stories and research across culture, society, and global issues through thoughtful editorial design.
For this issue, I created an infographic that translated key information into a clear, visually engaging story. I organized the content to be easy to scan and digest quickly by pulling out the most important data points, building a strong visual hierarchy, and incorporating graphic elements that helped guide the reader through the message. I also conducted additional research to ensure the visuals accurately reflected the intended meaning and tone.
In addition to the infographic, I supported the magazine layout by designing and refining other spreads throughout the issue. This helped maintain consistency across typography, spacing, and overall flow. The publication already had an established color palette and type system, and working within those standards was a fun creative challenge that pushed me to stay on brand while still finding ways to create fresh layouts and strong composition. This project represents one of my commissioned and collaborative efforts with Kissane Viola Design in Aspen, Colorado.
